Why It Matters
The Cheyenne and Arapaho Culture Enrichment Encampment — a partnership between Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes and Right Relationship Boulder — will provide Native youth with a powerful opportunity to share meaningful, immersive cultural experiences alongside Tribal Elders.
During the July camp at Rocky Mountain National Park and near Boulder, Colo., Native youth will:
Engage in Arapaho and Cheyenne language enrichment through storytelling and conversation with Elders—strengthening cultural identity across generations.
Learn about the deep and enduring connection the Cheyenne and Arapaho Peoples maintain with Rocky Mountain Park and the Boulder area.
Hear traditional stories from Tribal Elders that teach cultural values, history, and life lessons passed down through generations.
Engage in tipi raising and camp life activities that cultivate teamwork, cultural pride, and practical skills rooted in tradition.
Understand horse culture and its continued importance to the Cheyenne and Arapaho —while gaining hands-on experience with horseback riding.
